So I meant to hit send on this post yesterday, but apparently I did not, so it's coming out a day late. Sorry...
What am I working on today?
Still plucking away at these golden gloves for my partner's son. No you aren't mistaken these gloves are huge. I did manage to finish 2 more fingers since the last WIPW so maybe these will be finished by the end of February.
I have not touched the sweater that needs grading in a week except to get my daughter to wear it presumably for the last time ever as it seems she managed to grow out of it since Christmas time. I squeezed her into it long enough to have a photographer come out last Sunday to get some nice professional, snowy-day pictures with Abby in the aforementioned garment. The plan is to keep picking away at this project until I am ready to publish it sometime between now and never.
I know, on paper, what steps I need to take to publish a pattern. Because it's all theoretical in my mind every step of this journey is a learning process, which means it is moving excruciatingly slow right now. I guess as long as I keep making progress, even if it is slow, there really is no concrete deadline because I am doing this by and for myself.
I have fallen down a new rabbit hole that is vying for all of my crafting time and attention right now. I want to SEW ALL THE THINGS. I think because knitting feels like a chore that needs to be done, sewing small things by hand just seems like a more exciting proposition. I don't really have to think about it. It is not challenging to sew a straight line by hand.
This is all Bernadette Banner's fault. Well, I'm blaming her because I recently found her YouTube channel and she is freaking adorable and I'm fangirling pretty hard over her content right now. If you don't know who she is, let me introduce you. She lives in Manhattan, sews historical costumes for herself and is a costume designer for a couple Broadway plays. All of her personal sewing is done by hand! She is cute and funny and a little bit of a weirdo, and the best part of it all is that she is unapologetically herself. So because of Bernadette, I just want to drink tea and watch her YouTube channel and sew things.
Well, I think that is about it for today. Be well and be kind.
