Challenging my Creative Growth
Updated: Jan 28

As the holidays come to a close, I find myself reflecting on the role of creativity in my life. In the past, I have often fallen into the trap of viewing my hobbies and interests as potential sources of income, rather than simply as enjoyable pastimes. This approach has led to a sense of burnout and a lack of fulfillment. In light of this realization, I have decided to embark on a journey of self-discovery, in which I will explore the true meaning of creativity for me.
To guide me on this journey, I have been reading two books: The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron and Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. These books have provided valuable insights and inspiration for how I can approach my creative pursuits in a more authentic and meaningful way. In particular, Gilbert's letter to fear and her vow to commit to her creative process at a young age have resonated with me and have motivated me to adjust my attitude towards my own creativity.
In my next blog post, I will delve deeper into how popular shows such as The Great British Bake Off and The Great Pottery Throw Down have influenced my approach to this new phase of my creative journey. I am excited to see where this path leads me and to share my experiences with my readers.
